Kullu Manali is a beautiful hill station nestled in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is composed of two parts: Kullu, known for its lush green valleys and the Beas River and Manali, famous for its breathtaking mountain views and adventurous activities.
The best time to visit Manali is from March to June for pleasant weather and from October to February for snow and winter sports.
Highlights:
Day 1: Morning: Arrive in Manali. You can reach Manali by flight to Kullu Airport(Bhuntar) followed by a taxi to Manali, or by overnight bus from Delhi/Chandigarh.
Check-in: Check into Hotel Mountain Trail, Hadimba Road, Manali, Freshen up and relax for a bit.
Afternoon:
Hadimba Devi Temple: Visit the ancient and beautifully carved Hadimba Devi Temple, a unique padoga-style structure nestled amids cedar forests.
Vashisht Village: Explore Vashisht Village, known for its hot springs and the Vashisht Temple. You can take a dip in the hot sulfur springs, which are believed to have medician properties.
Old Manali: Wander through the charming lanes of Old Manali, known for its bohemian vibe, cages, and artisan shops
Evening: Enjoy a leisurely walk on Mail Road, the heart of Manali, where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, and enjoy the local Himachali cuisine.
Dinner: Dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant
Day 2: Morning: After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Solang Valley.
Solang Valley: This picturesque valley is famous for its adventure sports like paragliding, zorbing, and skiing(Seasonal). Enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the snow capped mountains.
Afternoon:
Rohtang Pass(Optional & Seasonal): If the road to Rohtang Pass is open(usually from May/June to October, depending on snowfall), you can continue your journey to this high mountain pass. It offers breathtaking views and is a popular spot for snow activities. Please note: Rohtang Pass requires permits which can be arranged in advance or on the spot and can be subject to weather conditions
Evening; Return to Manali
Dinner: Dinner at your hotel
Day 3: Morning: After breakfast check out from Hotel Mountain Trail.
Naggar Sighseeing: Visit to Naggar Castle
Kullu Valley Sightseeing
Kullu Shawl Factory/Weaving Centre: Visit a local shawl factory or weaving center to see how the famous Kullu shawls are made and perhaps purchase some authentic souvenirs.
Rafting(Optional): If you're adventurous, you can enjoy white-water rafting on the Beas River(seasonal and subject to water level)
Departure: Depart from Manali. You can either take a taxi to Kullu Airport and visit Naggar Castle, Kully shawl factory before taking your flight from Kullu to Delhi, or head to the Volvo bus stand for your onward journey.
